Office of Institutional Research
The Office of Institutional Research (OIR) is responsible for campus-wide institutional research activities and initiatives, including the organization, collection and analysis of campus data in response to requests from internal and external organizations.
UCSF Learner Facts
The total learner population in fall 2025 is 5,874:
- Enrolled Students: 3,003 (excluding 7 on filing fee status and 267 off-campus in joint programs)
- Medical, Dental and Pharmacy Residents and Fellows: 1,786
- Postdoctoral Scholars: 1,085
Of the 914 new students in the fall 2025 entering class:
- 67% were women
- 56% were California residents
- 25% were first generation in their family to have attended college
- 47% were first generation in their family to attend graduate school
- 16% were from outside the U.S. They came from 44 different countries and regions.
In the 2024-2025 academic year, UCSF awarded a total of 987 degrees, including 63 certificates, 304 master's, 170 PhDs, and 450 professional degrees.
